Biography

Ann has spent many years painting watercolours, acrylics and mixed media on paper, canvas and board.

Her art education started at the Toronto School of Art and continued at the Dundas School of Art; the Royal Botanical School of Botanical Painters; the Blue Mountain School; the Sir Stanford School; the Southampton School of Art and the Bridgewater School.

She has painted with many renowned artists including Stephen Quiller, Don Andrews, Margaret Martin, Dan Burr, Domenic DiStephano, Alvaro Castanget, Bryan Atyeo, Margaret Roseman, Don Cavin and Lila Lewis Irving.

Statement

Texture is very important and many hours are spent preparing canvases, boards and paper. No image or idea is in her mind as she does this initial preparatory work. The canvases, boards or paper may wait for weeks before they are used.

Her works have been juried into many shows and have won awards. At present they are found in corporate and private collections in Canada, the USA, Australia, Israel, Belgium and Europe.
